Have you ever had that feeling deep inside, an insistent voice that whispers, "you were made for more"?

Maybe it stems in the moments of quiet time, or perhaps it hits you when you're faced with new challenges or opportunities in your life. It's the nudge that pushes you to grow, to seek, and to stretch beyond your comfort zone or what you've always known.

But what does it really mean to be "made for more"?

The Bible tells us that we are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Being made in His image means that we carry within us a reflection of His character, His creativity, and His purpose. We weren’t just thrown together haphazardly; we were intentionally designed with purpose and potential.

Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that “we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” This verse is a powerful reminder that there is more to our lives than just going through the motions. We are created with a purpose, and that purpose involves stepping into the good works that God has already laid out for us.

So, what does it look like to step into that “more”? It begins with understanding that God has given each of us unique gifts and talents.

Whether it’s a knack for encouraging others, a talent for writing, a gift for leadership, or a passion for helping those in need, these are all clues to the “more” that we are made for.

But it’s not just about discovering these gifts; it’s about using them to impact others and glorify God. In other words, it's not so much what we do, but how we do it.

Romans 12:6-8 speaks to this, urging us to use our gifts in accordance with the grace given to us. “If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” Whatever your gift, it’s meant to be used.

But let’s be honest: stepping into the “more” that God has for us can be daunting. It often requires us to move out of our comfort zones, take risks, and face our fears. It requires faith—faith that God’s plans are good, and that He will equip us for the journey.

Jeremiah 29:11 offers us reassurance: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This doesn’t mean that the path will always be easy, but it does mean that God is with us, guiding us, and working all things together for our good.

So, if you’ve been feeling that nudge; that sense that there is more for you—know that it’s not just your imagination.

It’s a God-given invitation to step into the fullness of who God created you to be. Trust Him, take that step, and embrace the “more” that is waiting for you. You were made for it.
